Upon returning to Paradise Island, Jakob is intrigued by the island’s inhabitants. A strange gate appears before him, but he cannot enter. A mysterious man appears and demands a shrimp to open the gate. Left with no choice, Jakob complies and steps through. Inside, he encounters an old woman and a white goat. Everything seems normal until the goat bleats for the first time. Entering an old house, Jakob discovers a nobleman holding an empty wine glass. Subsequent dialogue reveals that this is his father. Jakob is in disbelief but follows his father’s requests. After observing a painting on the wall, Jakob realizes that everyone he encountered is a member of his family: Uncle Gerard, Grandma Margaret, Brother David, Sister Elizabeth, Mother Caroline, and Father Nicholas.
