In the late 90s, specifically 1997, the game was first announced under the name Beastorizer. Drawing inspiration from human history, the game builds a mythical world where two supernatural energies exist with the power to turn the tide of battle.
From a scientific perspective, Zoanthrope is the general term for the entire character system, individuals carrying a special genetic mutation. Tyron, a mysterious organization, discovered the existence of Zoanthropes and began conducting experiments. Though Tyron failed, the Zoanthropes were exposed, leading to a larger-scale hunt. The Zoanthrope Liberation Front (ZLF) was formed to resist human extermination. In Bloody Roar, players experience this conflict, forging their own unique destinies.

How to Play Bloody Roar
Choosing Game Mode
The game starts with several introductory screens. Press Enter or the X key to continue. There are multiple options, but focus on Arcade (single-player) and VS (two-player). Finally, choose your character using the arrow keys and confirm with the S key to begin the match.

The two game modes have different control schemes. However, you can customize them. At the basic level, for single-player, you don’t need to reconfigure the controls. Here are the default key functions:
Single-Player Mode
- S: Transform.
- X, S: Punch.
- A: Bite.
- Z: Kick.
- Shift: Special Move.
